📖 Matthew 5:24 “First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”
In today’s text we see that peace is clearly very important to God. It is more important to Him than what we can offer or do. Jesus says that we are called to be peacemakers (Matt 5:9). There may be a relationship in your life right now that is not peaceful. You may feel angry or hurt. You may not feel like forgiving that person and as if they do not deserve that grace. And that is exactly the point.
Forgiveness is not a feeling; it is a choice. Be quick to forgive and slow to justify yourself. It helps to first remember what God has forgiven you for. Let His grace flow through you and into your relationships.
📌 It makes God happy when His children live in forgiveness and grace toward one another.
🙏Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your grace toward me. Thank You for forgiving me so much. Lord, help me to make the choice to forgive others as well. Grant me the grace to have grace myself and pursue peace in my relationships – even when I don’t feel like it. Amen.
