Here at Roadtrip247 we believe life is a long journey. As we go through life, we meet people who go on this trip along with us. For us this is like a roadtrip. Our final destination on this long journey is to become more and more like Jesus in what we say and what we do.
Nowadays, if go on a roadtrip, we will probably drive a car, but our story started long before anyone could even think of a think like a car… Just after Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, two of Jesus’ followers were on their way to a place called Emmaus. The whole way they argued with each other about all that Jesus did, but they did not have all the answers (You can read this story in Luke 24). Just like them, we are also looking for answers about who Jesus is and how we can live in relationship with God.
On their way to Emmaus, Jesus also joined them, but they did not realize it was Jesus straight away. Jesus explained many things to them about who he was and told them how the whole Bible led to the point where he had to be crucified to rid the world of sin. Just like them, we can also read through the Bible and discover who God is and learn how to become more like Jesus. But we also need some help.
Any of you who have ever been on a long journey will understand that we can not only go from start to finish without stopping alongside the road to rest and eat. That is why we call the Bible studies every morning ‘Pitstops’. It’s something to remind us every day of who God is and how we can live to become more like Jesus. So travel with us as we travel with Jesus. Be a Roadtripper and discover how awesome God is.
Luke 24:27-31
27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
28 As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. 29 But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.
30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight.
