Your Bible is a big collection of 66 books. Some of these books were written before the birth of Jesus. These 39 books form the first part of your Bible, also known as the Old Testament. The Old Testament Bible books have genres (just like music or movies). Some tell us about history, some recite the laws, some contain beautiful poetry or songs, and some tell us about the prophets.
But when all of them are read together, they create a beautiful tapestry showing us God’s big story. Since the Garden of Eden, it’s been a story of love, pursuit, betrayal, forgiveness, grace, and second chances.
📌 The Old Testament tells us about God’s promise to make a plan so that we can draw near to Him again…
🙏 Prayer: God, I want to thank You for Your Word, the Bible. Thank You for writing this great big story over so many years. Help me to see that You are still writing this story in my life as well and that You have a special role for me to play. Amen.
