WHAT IS STRESS AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT US PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, AND SPIRITUALLY?
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” – Philippians 4:6&7
“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” – Matthew 6:34
“First pay attention to me, and then relax. Now you can take it easy—you’re in good hands.” – Proverbs 1:33
A definition of stress could be: “A great worry that makes it impossible for one to relax.”
Are you experiencing stress in your life? Are you under a lot of pressure from your parents, teachers, or friends? Is your stress because of what society expects of you? Or do you put the pressure on yourself because you simply don’t feel good enough about yourself? You may not feel pretty or smart enough or maybe not popular or “cool” enough like your peers!
Did you know that stress can make you sick? You may suffer physically, mentally, and emotionally.
God’s Word is the best medicine for stress! He says you shouldn’t worry. Make Him your priority, and He will alleviate your burdens. Isn’t that great?! The Lord doesn’t want you to worry about anything. Instead, He wants you to share all your worries with Him.
What is Stress?
Prayer: Lord, I am grateful for Your constant presence and willingness to hear my burdens. I love You very much. Amen.
Challenge: Talk to God about everything that bothers and worries you. He’s waiting for you. He wants to help you and take your stress away.
