‘There are different spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. There are different ways of serving, and yet the same Lord is served. There are different types of work to do, but the same God produces every gift in every person. The evidence of the Spirit’s presence is given to each person for the common good of everyone.’ – 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Have you ever noticed that people don’t appreciate each other’s differences and being different? We need to remember that God has made us all unique for a reason – to glorify Him and serve His Kingdom! After all, we are all different parts of the body of Christ.
The apostle Paul spoke about various gifts of the Spirit that we can use to serve God’s Kingdom. This means that we all have different talents that we can use to do great things for God. Sometimes we get jealous of other people’s talents, and then choose not to do anything, for fear that it will not be good enough.
We need to remember that we all have our own fingerprints, and are different in our own unique way, and this is something to celebrate! Therefore, we should also celebrate the unique ways God wants to use us for His glory. If God has given you a beautiful singing voice, use it to sing to Him! If He has given you a writing talent, use it to write to Him! Or, maybe He wants you to serve others in a unique way that only you can do.
Whatever it is, do it with all your heart as if you were doing it for God.
Unique and Accepted
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for making me unique! I know You want me to use my talents to serve Your Kingdom. Please help me figure out how I can use my gifts to glorify You and follow in Jesus’s footsteps. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: Think about your own talents and gifts. How are you using them to glorify God? Maybe He has a unique plan for you! If you’re unsure, ask Him to show you how to use them.
