‘Don’t hide yourself from me! Don’t be angry with me; don’t turn your servant away. You have been my help; don’t leave me, don’t abandon me, O God, my savior. My father and mother may abandon me, but the Lord will take care of me.’ – Psalm 27:9-10
Psalm 27:10 reminds us that God will always take us in, even if our earthly parents abandon us. In today’s society, social media has become a jungle where we constantly try to impress others and gain their approval. We fear that we might be unfollowed, unfriended, or blocked by the group. This fear of rejection causes stress and anxiety, and we often find ourselves trying to keep a long list of people happy.
But our families cannot provide the safety and security we need for some of us. In countries where Christianity is not accepted, teenagers who come to faith in Jesus are kicked out of their homes. Others may feel their parents only love them when they perform well in academics or sports. In these situations, finding comfort and security cannot be easy.
However, Psalm 27:10 reminds you that you are never alone. Even if your earthly parents reject you, God will always love and take you in. You don’t have to worry about being unfriended or unfollowed by God, as He will never abandon you. You can always rely on His never-ending love and find safety in Him.
Unending Love and Security
Prayer: Father, people seem to hurt each other all the time. I sometimes feel so insecure and unsafe. Thank You that I am always able to rely on Your never-ending love. Thank You for always being there for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: Remind yourselves that you are loved and accepted by God, even when you feel rejected by others. Let’s take a moment to pray and thank God for His never-ending love and ask Him to help you find your security in Him. Let’s also strive to be a source of love and acceptance to those around you so that they may also feel God’s love through you.
