Martin Luther King Jr. once mentioned he leads such a busy life, that it’s impossible for him to get through his day without at least 3 hours of prayer. Imagine his connection with God!
That’s one key aspect we often neglect when planning for our future – letting God take our wheel and steer us where He wants us to go. When life gets too much and we can’t take it anymore, we tend to grab back the steering wheel we gave over to God.
Elijah the prophet had a similar experience, where he called out to God to kill him, for he’s had enough (1Kings 19). What did God do? He guarded Elijah while he slept and sent him some food afterwards. God will never forsake you, even if you’re fighting to take over the control from Him. In that situation, the only thing that keeps us going is faith.
Call on Jesus! He will never be too busy for you. If you’ve got doubts about your future, talk to Him about it. Jesus’s cell phone number is written in Psalm 50:15 – “Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you.” This call is free of charge, and the number will always be available. Are you also available to Him? You must wait and listen patiently for a response. Maybe it comes when you least expect it to!
Trust God, Even Under Pressure
Prayer: God, thank you for having a plan for my future and for always looking out for me, even when I’m acting against You. I pray that You’ll reveal what You want me to do with my life, and that my heart will be responsive to Your word. Amen.
Challenge: Look and listen for any signs from God hinting at what His plan for your life may be. If you find any, document it in a journal to keep track of it or share it with someone.
