Proverbs 18:24 MSG “Friends come and friends go, but a true friend sticks by you like family.”
The warm feeling that awakens in your chest when you realise that the person across from you truly has your best interests at heart. The smile you can’t hide because you are so grateful that someone finally cares for you as much as you do for them. The kind of love you see “in the movies,” the kind you read about in the Bible. Someone who would do anything for you, just as you would for them. That is a true friend!
Jesus hand picked His disciples—those who would support Him in all circumstances. His disciples were also His closest friends, the ones with whom He spent the most time. The reality is that there is quality in a smaller quantity of friends.
Choose your friends wisely, and you will always have people who have your back.
Prayer: Thank You Lord, for showing us that friends, just like Your disciples, play an important role in our lives. Help me choose wisely the people I spend most of my time with so that together we can live out Your will. Amen.
Challenge: Challenge the norm and seek out that one friend who will build you up in faith and challenge you on the true value of life.
