‘Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptise them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”’ – Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus’ command to His disciples, known as the “Great Commission”, is not just for them but for us, too. He instructs us to make disciples of all nations, to spread His teachings and love to everyone. This isn’t just an option; it’s a privilege and a responsibility! Sharing the message of Jesus is an essential part of our faith journey.
When we witness to others, we participate in the fulfilment of this commission. We may doubt our abilities or fear rejection, but Jesus always promises to be with us.
Our role is to plant seeds of faith, trusting that God will water and nurture them. Remember, witnessing isn’t about having all the answers but sharing our hope in Jesus.
The Great Commission
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for entrusting me with the Great Commission. Give me the courage to step out in faith, knowing that You are always with me. Help me to be faithful in sharing Your message of love and salvation. May my efforts bear fruit for Your kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: Take time to learn about a foreign country or culture. Pray for the people in that place, that they may come to know Jesus. Consider supporting missionary work in that region through prayer, giving, or raising awareness.
