In Matthew 28:19–20 Jesus said:
“God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
“The whole country will see how you work, all the godless nations see how you save.” – Psalm 67:3
“But how can people call for help if they don’t know who to trust? And how can they know who to trust if they haven’t heard of the One who can be trusted? And how can they hear if nobody tells them?” – Romans 10:14
Jesus’ Great Commission is to go, make disciples, and baptise and teach them. It means reaching out to all people and telling them that a personal relationship with Jesus is possible.
If you are a Christian, you are also a disciple and therefore this commission is also for you, and for all those who call themselves Christians. Maybe you think you won’t be able to do that, but Jesus knew it would seem impossible to some of us, so He completes His commission with the promise: “I am with you all the days until the end of the world.”
You know what? It’s not even hard! You have so much to be thankful for, and when Jesus is part of your life, His love radiates from you. Then it starts bubbling inside you and you can’t wait to tell someone about Him. You unknowingly testify about Jesus when you tell others about His goodness and love. And maybe they’re very much ready to learn more about him. This way you start leading your friends to Jesus.
TELL OTHERS ABOUT JESUS
Prayer: Lord, open my eyes so that I will know with whom to share Your love today. Amen.
Challenge: Start showing Jesus to someone today and live in such a way that everyone will see Him in you!
