“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.” – Ephesians 5:3
This week we reflect on three hot topics: sex, drugs and rock and roll. Many different views exist on this so let’s actively listen to what God says about it in His Word.
First, we reflect on sex. Sex is much more than just a physical act. After God gave Adam his wife Eve, they became intimate and became one. God gave intimacy for man to enjoy within the safety of marriage. God’s vision was one of beauty and holiness.
As young people, we are called upon to honour God with our thoughts, our bodies, and our relationships. Therefore, we must make sure that we also stay within God’s will by refraining from sex and saving it for marriage. It’s not easy, but through prayer, self-discipline and help from mentors you trust, one can stay clean and glorify God in that way. Surround yourself with friends who also want to stay pure and help each other stay on the right track.
These days, traps are everywhere on our screens and it’s not easy to peek and not give in. It helps to put your stop signs up in advance so that when you get too close to temptations, you’ll immediately turn around. Once we’re past the sign, times are hard, almost impossible.
And if you’ve already stepped over the line, know that God’s forgiveness is enough to not only forgive you but also recover you. Confess before God that you have passed the stop sign and accept His forgiveness. Surrender your all to living out God’s purpose for you.

Prayer: Father, I raise my hand to stay sexually clean. Help me with Your Spirit not to slip past the stop signs. I want to live holy before You and warm Your heart. Amen.
