So, from yesterday we understand that a king has control over a large area. God has control over so much more than your average king. God cares so much for us and sometimes we just don’t realise how much of our lives God really has in His hands. Even as children, we learned that our parents are often right when they warn us – yet most of us still struggle to obey them today.
Jesus tells the people who listen to Him to listen to God and obey Him. God’s rules are not there to spoil our fun, but rather to give us the best way of life. But we often run to things that are not right to God and sin by turning away from God.
We can also learn from what Jesus has to say. The more we begin to realize that God wants to give us good things, the more we will realize that it is really worth seeking God before we seek other things. If we seek God first, the good things God wants to give us will follow.
Put God first.
Prayer: Lord, I know that You care so much more about me than I really understand. Please help me to put You first and not chase after the things I feel I need – I know You will provide good things if I seek you first… Amen.
Challenge: Sometimes, by obeying God’s command to love people, we can also share in God’s plan to provide for other people. Look in your closet to see if there are any clothes you no longer wear. Can anyone else use this? There are many places that take old clothes and hand them to the people who need it most.
