18 All this is from God. Through Christ, God made peace betweeni us and himself, and God gave us the work of telling everyone about the peace we can have with him.
iAnother word for this is ‘reconciled’
Woah … Wait a minute … What does the word reconcile mean? To reconcile usually means that a broken relationship is restored. Usually, when broken relationships exist, reconciliation can happen if people forgive one another. Because humankind (from Adam’s time already) often sins against God, we also need reconciliation. Our relationship with God needs to be made new.
When God looks at Jesus, He sees no fault in Him. If we belong to Jesus, we are also seen with the same eyes. If we belong to Jesus, our relationship with God can be restored. It is when this relationship is restored, that we become a new person (as we said yesterday).
It’s amazing to know that, even if we damage the relationship between us and God, He still chooses to love us and wants to restore the relationship. We do not take the first step of reconciliation, God does. God is determined to reach out to us to share His love.
Our relationship with God has been restored!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for pursuing me in Your love and taking the first step of reconciliation. I pray that I will understand more and more each day what it means to belong to Jesus. Thank you that I can speak freely with You because Jesus brought me reconciliation… Amen.
