💭 “No one can love me. I’m too messed up. There are broken parts of me, hidden away, that I’m too scared to show anyone. I don’t want to burden them with my baggage. I’m scared they don’t see me the same way once they know the truth. I feel like a fraud.”
Have you ever felt like this? As if the parts of you that are broken are beyond repair?
🛠️ There’s an ancient Japanese practice called Kintsugi. Broken pottery is not thrown away; it is fixed. With gold! The idea is that the piece is worth more after than it was before. As we’ve journeyed through 2 Cor 12 – something became clear:
📖 The part quoted most often from this chapter is vv.9-10:
“…he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
🙏 Let’s pray together: God, thank You for Your Word. This whole chapter speaks about how good and great You are. Even when I am broken, weak, and low – You are strong in Me. Please help me to remember that, like Kintsugi, my life becomes worth so much more when I allow You to redeem my pain and turn it into something beautiful. Amen.
