‘I urge you, then—I who am a prisoner because I serve the Lord: live a life that measures up to the standard God set when he called you. Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.’ – Ephesians 4:1-2
As followers of Christ, we are called to embrace meekness as a virtue. Meekness is not weakness; it is strength under control. It’s a gentle, humble spirit that allows us to love and selflessly serve others.
Jesus said, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Meekness opens our eyes to the world’s beauty, hidden from the proud and arrogant. It’s like inheriting a priceless painting by appreciating its beauty rather than boasting about its cost.
We must start by surrendering our pride to the cross to develop meekness. Ask the Holy Spirit to transform your heart and make it meek and humble, just like Jesus. Invite Him to guide your thoughts, words, and actions.
As you grow in meekness, be the peacemaker in your relationships, healing conflicts, and showing love. Remember that true strength is found in humility. Embrace the low seat, confessing your unworthiness, and God will exalt you in His time.
Meekness Is Not Weakness
Prayer: Dear God, help me walk in humility as Your child. Remove bitterness, anger, and pride from my heart. Make me an instrument of peace, healing, and love. May I reflect the humility of Jesus in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: This week, practice humility. Seek opportunities to serve others without seeking recognition. When conflicts arise, be a peacemaker. Take a humble stance, confessing any wrongs. Remember, humility is strength in gentleness.
