John 13:15 MSG “So if I, the Master and Teacher, washed your feet, you must now wash each other’s feet. I’ve laid down a pattern for you. What I’ve done, you do.”
Can you even begin to imagine knowing that your best friends are about to abandon you in the next 24 hours, and instead of ranting at them and being mad, you kneel humbly and lovingly wash away the dirt from their feet? Later, the disciples might’ve looked down at their feet in shame and noticed Jesus’ act of kindness.
His actions show you that your sins are forgiven and mercy is granted before you even ask for it. Jesus only asks that you live a life of serving others, as an example of your devotion to God’s way.
God will show you ways to serve others with compassion & humility.
Prayer: Dear Lord God, please help me to treat others with love, to always be humble like Jesus, and to be a reflection of You every day. Help me to be a true servant of God. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Challenge: Look at those around you…is there anyone you normally don’t talk to or greet? Try approaching them this week and getting to know them as an “undercover” servant of God.
