‘Gossips can’t keep secrets, so never confide in blabbermouths.’ – Proverbs 20:19
Alas, the hurt and tears a gossiping tongue has caused are still not the end. Now I am not even talking about unbelievers, but about believers who are supposed to be Jesus’ ambassadors on earth.
Let us repent and glorify the Lord’s Name by genuinely loving people and not slandering them. Allow others to live for the Lord as He leads them, not as we think they should.
If you feel someone is sinning (doing something wrong), you must have the courage to go up to them, talk to them face to face, and solve the problem that way. However, nowhere do you have the right to discuss them with others behind their backs. It is gossip, and God sees it.
Do people know they can count on you, not to slander or badmouth them? How will you be remembered? Remember, you may be a person’s only opportunity to see Jesus’ Image on this earth. How do other people see you? Can others see Jesus in you?
Let Your Words Make Others Hear and See Jesus!
Prayer: Lord, please give me the strength and courage to talk to someone who lives in sin and may have made a mistake. Please help me not to talk behind his back but rather to help and support him. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Challenge: Talk to someone directly when you see they may have sinned or made a mistake. Help the person because we have all made a mistake at one time or another.
