Luke 2:1-8
5 Joseph registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was now pregnant. 6 While they were in Bethlehem, the time came for Mary to have the baby, 7 and she gave birth to her first son. Because there were no rooms left in the inn, she wrapped the baby with pieces of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough.
Loyalty and faithfulness means a lot in a relationship (with family, friends, etc.). Can you think of a time when someone was loyal to you? What did that person do to show their loyalty?
It was a massive sacrifice that Mary made for God and His plan. Mary was a young, unmarried girl, but she prioritised her relationship with God above her reputation. This scripture reminds us that having a relationship with God sometimes means making big sacrifices, but it is absolutely worth it! It is such a privilege to be part of God’s story.
Sometimes it’s difficult to know what the right decision is in the moment, but it helps to act first out of your relationship with God and allow that to guide you.
Let God guide your decisions!
Prayer: God, thank you that you make each one of us part of your story. Lord, sometimes it’s hard to have you in my life! Help me to always focus on the bigger picture and to put that above all else.
Challenge: Find someone to pray with every day of the week. Pray for each other for to remain faithful to God, and keep each other strong on your journeys with God.
