Galatians 6:9-10
9 We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up. 10 When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.
It happens to everyone, maybe you get a bad mark for a test you’ve been studying really hard for … Maybe you’re just never thanked for the way you help out at home. It’s difficult to keep doing good if we don’t see the reward.
When was the last time you just felt you just wanted to give up? Does no one notice the good things you do? Paul helps us to understand that even when it becomes difficult, we must continue, because the reward will come in time.
And the reward will not necessarily come in praise or receiving thanks. But by sticking it out and doing good even in the middle of difficult things will develop our character, and it makes us people who are on fire for Jesus.
Hold on, God’s got your back!
Prayer: Lord God, I often feel like the good things I do don’t help at all. Help me to understand that You love me and stand behind me so that I can keep going in the strength You give.
Challenge: Try to do a good thing again today on which you have recently given up.
