It’s OK to not be OK

“For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you. Do not fear; I will help you.”Isaiah 41:13

“I’m not good enough.” “I’m being bullied.” “I’m tired of the fighting in our house.” “I’m gay.”

These challenges steal your joy and lead to anxiety. You can’t anymore. Your emotions are a roller coaster ride. You have trouble sleeping or concentrating. You would rather be alone. Maybe you have suicidal thoughts because everything you try to do doesn’t work out.

If I can’t cope with my challenges, then I’m not good enough and I will say I’m struggling – obviously!

Stop. Remind yourself that you were created with a specific purpose. You have a specific task to perform. You are the King’s heir. And you probably think: “Whatever!”

Stop the momentum of the downward spiral and ask yourself if what you think is true. Of course you are good enough! It’s okay not to always feel or be in control – God has your back.

The Lord is just a thought away. He understands exactly how you feel and what you are struggling with. It assures us that He is with us when we don’t feel okay.

It’s OK to not be OK

Prayer: Jesus, teach me to accept that I don’t always have to be okay. Teach me to believe that You are always in control of everything. Help me that I will trust You again with my challenges and wait patiently for Your answers. Amen.

Challenge: Specifically, say why you’re not okay with today. Decide how you can manage this feeling/emotion better. What is your plan B to get help with these challenge(s)?
