Close your eyes and see the following picture: A man with a rugged beard and long hair. His clothes are made of camel hair, tied around his waist with a leather strap. This might not be someone we would have chosen to say Jesus is on the way, right? And he ate wild grasshoppers and honey for food! It’s weird but true! This is John the Baptist.

📖 John 1:8
“John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light.”

❔ Questions

• Do you sometimes try to be the light and focus all the attention on yourself? 
• Can you share Jesus’ light with somebody else today by forwarding this message to them?

Dear Jesus, help me ________ Your light, even when it feels _____. Like John didn’t speak about himself, help me to _______________. Amen.

Write in a journal or diary: How can you live for Jesus in each area of your life – so that people don’t see you, but Him? (school, friends, family, health, faith, and on social media)

Post something on social media this week that is not about yourself, but clearly pointing to Jesus.

Can you think of someone who is teased or insulted at your school because they are (like John the Baptist) a little bit “different”? How can you show them love this week?
