Sometimes you can sit in a car with someone and still feel miles away. We tend to wonder if God is like that, present but… distant? Yet John tells us that Jesus is close to the Father’s heart and He has come to show us exactly who God is. On this roadtrip with Jesus, you are not in the backseat, unseen or unheard. You are right next to Him. If you can see Jesus, you are not far from God.

📖 John 1:18
“No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.”

❔ Questions

• If Jesus shows us what God is really like, what do you notice about His heart when you read about Him in the verse above?
• Is there someone who feels far from God right now? Will you send them this message and invite them to sit next to you on this roadtrip?

🙏 Talk to God
Dear Jesus, thank You that I am not far from You even when I feel ______. Help me trust that You are close to my ______. Amen.

📢 Identity statement
Say it out loud: “I am not far from God”.

🎨 Respond
Find a quiet space and sit still for two minutes. Imagine Jesus sitting next to you, not disappointed, not distant, just present. Afterward, write one sentence in your journal starting with: “God is closer to me than I thought when…”

🤳Social media
Share a short post that says, “I’m not far from God, even on the hard days,” and encourage someone who might feel distant.

👥 People
When a friend says they feel alone, don’t rush to fix it. Sit with them, listen to them, be with them, and let your presence remind them what God’s closeness feels like.
