💭 Reflect
This week we’ve been talking about obeying God, but how do you actually do it? It’s one thing to say “You must obey God” but another to live a life that fits into God’s path for your life. Imagine you are on the roadtrip with Jesus and He says: “Now, we’ll turn left”. Because you have journeyed with Him for a while, you have learned to trust Him, and you can more easily do as He says. The same will be true for your life.

📖 Proverbs 3:34
“The Lord mocks the mockers but is gracious to the humble.”

❔ Questions

• Today’s verse gives a key to obedience. It’s the last word of the verse and also a Fruit of the Spirit – what is it?
• We need to lay aside our own plans and maps to be able to obey God’s way. What is the 1 thing you can lay down at His feet today?
• Forward this message to a friend or family member going through a challenge of obedience.

🙏 Talk to God
Fill in the blank spaces with your own words:
Dear God, I want to obey You but sometimes I feel _____. Please help me to ________. I want to get to know You better so that I can ________ Your voice when You tell me __________. Amen.

📢 Identity statement
Say it out loud: “I can obey God.”

🎨 Respond
Draw a long squigly line in a journal. On it, mark the different seasons of your life so far – the places you lived, the schools you attended, the phases you were in. Add in the names of people who were close to you along the way. Look at the part of the line that is still open (the future) and pray about what comes next.

🤳Social media
Obeying God practically can look like filtering your posts through the Ten Commandments or the fruit of the Spirit. Look through your posts and delete anything that does not glorify God but glorifies yourself.

👥 People
Obedience can be a personal thing but it’s never a private thing. God will often invite you to obey Him by setting right broken relationships in your life. Can you think of one?
