‘The Messenger of the Lord appeared to Gideon and said, “The Lord is with you, brave man.” Gideon responded, “Excuse me, sir! But if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? ….. ‘ – Judges 6:12-13
Change is hard. And for change to take place, it’s going to cost you something. But how can we manage change? How can we live so that change will not negatively affect us? Reading this passage in Judges made me think about changes that Gideon didn’t like. God was calling him to make a difference in this world. But all he saw was negativity and things that went wrong. He asked, “But where are God in all this negativity, and why does He want to use me now?” Luckily, the story doesn’t end there. It ends with God helping Gideon to free God’s people.
Face it; change is difficult. But when God calls us to do something incredible that scares us, He always promises to be with us. Change can be scary, but we should look at change as something that will help us grow. To learn and to make a difference. Do not let your circumstances or the change in those circumstances create doubt and fear in you. But look at them as a moment to grow. Something that you will see might change the lives of other people or it changes your life.
When God calls us, He doesn’t just call us. He also prepares us, and He sends people to help us. Embrace change and grow closer to God.
How To Embrace Change
Prayer: Lord. Thank you for the opportunity that You give me to change. The opportunity to embrace change so that I can grow and learn to be able to make an impact in this world. Because you’ve called me to do this. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

1. Positive Lense: Like Gideon, shift from dwelling on negatives to focusing on growth opportunities in change.
2. Faith Over Doubt: When change seems uncertain, trust that faith can guide you through challenges.
