💦 We can think about sin as water. Before we knew Jesus, our nature was like a stone. A stone (person) sinks in water (sin). But God does not take the stone out of the water and dry it off. Because of what Jesus has done (died and rose again), your identity has changed completely.
The water of sin is still all around you. But your new nature, like a piece of wood, means sin no longer has the power to hold you under!
“The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires.”
🗣️ Say it out loud right now: “I am alive with Jesus and my identity is found in who He says I am.”

Dear God, thank You for making me NEW. Even if I get pulled into sin, it does not change who I am in You. I get to proclaim over that situation: “This does not define me.” and rise above the sin. Amen.
