‘We were dead because of our failures, but he made us alive together with Christ. (It is God’s kindness that saved you.) God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God.’ – Ephesians 2:5,8
Grace saves…it sounds so beautiful. But isn’t it God who saves us through Jesus?
And doesn’t this salvation follow what Jesus did for us on the cross? You know, He died, rose, and ascended. Why do we say: “You are saved by grace?”
Grace is that word in our Christian faith that is comprehensive. It explains in one word what Jesus did for us on the CROSS (died for us without cause), did at the empty GRAVE (victory over death), and did at the ASCENSION (went to prepare a place for us in heaven).
I often ask myself, is it as easy as Ephesians 2:8 says? Believe only then you get the grace that saves? The Bible says YES, it is that easy! Just believe that Jesus died for you on the cross and through this forgave ALL your sins. Believe that He has conquered death and is preparing a place for you in heaven to be found. Believe, and you will receive the gift of grace.
The gift that says everything Jesus did for you is true! This is why the Bible’s grace saves, a word with significant comprehensive meaning.
Grace Saves
Prayer: Almighty Father, thank you for mercy and grace. May I never forget what this free gift cost! Your Son paid the price for me so that I could be free from the penalty of sin. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
