‘We must thank God at all times for you, friends, you whom the Lord loves. For God chose you as the first to be saved by the Spirit’s power to make you his holy people and by your faith in the truth.’ – 2 Thessalonians 2:13
To be saved means to live free from sin. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you become one with the Father and the Son, living a devoted life to the Lord. It is only through salvation that you receive the Holy Spirit.
Knowing that Jesus died on the cross does not bring you salvation. Salvation comes when you believe Jesus came to die for your sins and you are willing to give up all your sins and follow Him. You are saved as soon as you believe that Jesus has freed you from all sin.
Jesus’ salvation brings healing, hope, liberation, peace that surpasses all understanding, love for your fellow man, forgiveness, security, and purity. These are all qualities God wants to give you free and out of love. God has given us each free will. Therefore, whether we wish to accept it or not remains our choice. God’s sacrifice remains. You have to make a choice. God stands at your heart’s door and knocks; it’s your job to open it.
Grace Gives Life
Prayer: Lord, salvation is a gift from You, and we all have access to Your grace. We do not deserve it, but out of Your faithful love, You are still willing to give it to us. Your grace was bought dearly, it cost Your Son, but You are willing to provide it to us freely. All You ask of us is to confess our sins and dedicate our lives to You. I pray that everyone will accept Your gift to us and that Christ will redeem us. Amen.
