“All the Holy Writings are God-given and are made alive by Him. Man is helped when he is taught God’s Word. It shows what is wrong. It changes the way of a man’s life. It shows him how to be right with God. It gives the man who belongs to God everything he needs to work well for Him.” – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
When you buy a new device, a manual is included to teach you how to put it together, how it works and what you need to do when something breaks. Many of us attempt to do it ourselves without using the manual. But before we know it, it’s done and there are three screws and one handle remaining and the whole thing is standing lobsided.
We would like to prove our knowledge and independence. Unfortunately, this way we damage the final product. We can’t use it to its full potential because it’s not in its best format.
We handle the Bible likewise. God gave us a comprehensive manual on how we should live. We just need to open the book and read it. Are you struggling to forgive? Read your manual. You lied about something? Read your manual. You don’t know how to stop a bad habit? Read your manual.
In Psalm 119:105, David says: “Your words are a flashlight to light the path ahead of me and keep me from stumbling.”
You don’t have to struggle on your own in the dark. God provides you help. You just have to accept it.
