‘The Lord answered, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you peace.”’ – Exodus 33:14
C. S. Lewis once said, “God’s presence is not the same as the feeling of God’s presence, and He may do the most for us when we think He does the least.” It is vital to understand that God’s presence can remarkably transform our negative emotions, such as anxiety, into profound peace. This peace surpasses understanding and our attempts to control it. His presence can transport us to places of serenity, gratitude, and rest.
Rest assured, knowing that your future and protection lie in His capable hands. However, we often find ourselves gripped by anxiety and fear when we neglect to spend time with God and rest in His presence. By doing so, we deny ourselves the opportunity for God’s presence to consume our fears, replacing them with His divine peace.
God’s Presence Brings Forth Peace
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I sometimes find myself consumed by anxiety and fear. I humbly ask that You replace these feelings with Your perfect peace. Help me recognize the significance of spending time in Your presence. Ignite a burning desire within my soul to seek You. I acknowledge that I cannot navigate this life without You, and I apologize for the moments when I mistakenly believed I could. Yet, Your love continually draws me nearer. I want to express my gratitude and love for You. Thank You, Jesus. I love You. In Your mighty name, Amen.
Challenge: When anxiety overwhelms you, open your heart to God and pour your feelings before Him. Devote time every night before sleep to be in the presence of God, for it is during those moments that fears often creep in. Engage with God in worship by singing or listening to at least one worship song every night.
