‘A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;’ – Isaiah 42:3
Isaiah 42:3 tells us that God is gentle and compassionate. He doesn’t break those already hurting or extinguish the faintest glimmer of hope. This means that God will bring us lasting justice and healing no matter how bent or fragile we feel.
Every person on this planet goes through moments of sadness. We encounter situations that pierce our hearts and cause our world to crumble. Often, we believe we must always be strong, and when things get tough, we feel a sense of self-blame and helplessness, as if we’re all alone in our struggles.
In the book of Psalms, we find comfort in the words of David, a man deeply loved by God. He expressed sorrow and poured his heartache into God, not holding back his genuine emotions. We also discover in the Bible that even Jesus experienced moments of tears and deep anguish. Jesus understands precisely how you feel, and He knows everything. Not a single teardrop falls without God being aware of it.
When we face difficulties, God doesn’t turn His back on us. He comprehends the pain of our broken hearts because He is our Creator. In those moments, we can run into His open arms and pour our grief before Him. He longs to be there for us through every challenging circumstance. He desires to calm our troubled hearts when sadness seems unending, and He wants to give us the strength to rise and carry on with our responsibilities.
God is our loving Father, who fills us with renewed hope and grants us a fresh start. He will never, ever abandon us. So, let us fix our gaze upon Him.
Remember, God wants to be there for you.
