How many times have you seen a big challenge (like exams) that was on the way and then allowed it to take over your thoughts? It’s as if whatever we do, there always seems to be a task/challenge that causes us to worry. We often get so caught up thinking about this one thing that we do not pay attention to the present.
Jesus tells us that we should not constantly be thinking about tomorrow, because today already has enough problems of its own. It is important for us to have the kind of trust that believes that God will not only help us today, but even in the future too. We sometimes forget just how awesome God’s qualities are. God was in charge yesterday, he is in charge of today and he is in charge of tomorrow as well.
If God is in charge of our future. If we (as we read in the previous verse) seek Him first, we can truly have peace in life. This peace gives us the opportunity to pursue God and to be formed in His love and provision.
God will provide for tomorrow.
Prayer: Lord, you are so much bigger and more fantastic than I can understand. Help me to put my trust in the fact that you also have control over tomorrow just like today. I want to get to know you better today, so please take my stress for tomorrow in your hands … Amen.
Challenge: With the examinations that are likely to be on the way, make yourself something that you can keep in your room. Let this remind you that God carries your future in His hands.
