Psalm 104:4-15

This Psalm is described as a creation psalm. A Psalm that tells us as readers of the great and powerful works of God and how they are visible in the creation around us. We see here how God not only creates, but also provides. The cattle had food to eat, the birds found hiding in their nests and the Lord provided for man. The poet praises the Lord for all that he sees around him. He emphasises that God communicates through nature. God is present everywhere!
Life is busy and fast, and we sometimes forget to take a moment to appreciate what is happening around us. And the busier we become, the further God seems from us. Your experience of the reality around you is grey, quiet and alone. You feel God is not near, but this Psalm emphasises that God is in nature. May this Psalm serve as a reminder and inspiration for us to purposefully seek stillness in our busy lives, and to see and meet God where He is already present.
God Speaks Through Nature
Prayer: Lord, open our eyes to see where You are already present around us. Thank you for the beautiful nature and for witnessing Your greatness in creation. May we be truly grateful for every piece of beauty available to us each day, even if we sometimes miss it. Amen.
Challenge: During your busy routine, challenge yourself to purposefully stand still. Look around you to discover where God is present and realise this is where He meets you.
