Psalm 91: 1-2
1 Those who go to God Most High for safety
will be protected by the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “You are my place of safety and protection.
You are my God and I trust you.”
When you are in trouble or when you feel like things are just getting too hectic… who’s the first person you’ll go to? We usually turn to people that we trust. And who is there better to trust than God? God never lets us down.
This Psalm is about the absolute certainty that we can have in God. He will protect us in difficult times. People may not be able to protect us, but God is always there: At three o’clock in the morning or in the middle of a busy day.
God is a protector. He wants to protect us from the bad things that happen to us. He wants to show His love in this way, but we must also be willing to go to God and ask Him to help us. God loves it when we reach out to Him. When we look for Him, He is as clear as the sun in the middle of the day.
God is a protector.
Prayer: Lord God, you are my protector. Thank you for taking care of me. Thank you that I can know You are always with me. I want to stay close to You and know that I am safe in Your presence… Amen.
Challenge: Did you know God listens to all our prayers? No matter where we are or how loud we are able to speak. See if you can turn the words “You are my place of safety and protection. You are my God and I trust you” into a personal prayer to God?
