Ephesians 6:11 MSG “God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the devil throws your way.”
Paul describes the armor of God in Ephesians 6:13-17, and each piece is vital for standing firm in our spiritual battles – We need to remind ourselves of God’s truth from the Bible, guard our hearts from sin, take steps in faith, lean into God’s promises, affirm our salvation and renewal in Jesus, and speak Scripture aloud.
Like David before fighting Goliath (1 Samuel 17:38-39), we can’t wear someone else’s armor. King Saul’s armor didn’t fit David because it wasn’t meant for him. David relied on what he knew, God’s strength and guidance. In the same way, the armor of God is personal.
With God, you are fully equipped to stand firm and claim victory.
Prayer: Father God, today I want to refit the armor you have tailored for me. I know I can’t rely on someone else’s relationship with You to carry me through. Please protect me and give me wisdom when I am facing the enemy. Amen.
