1 Corinthians 10:13
13 The only temptation that has come to you is that which everyone has. But you can trust God, who will not permit you to be tempted more than you can stand. But when you are tempted, he will also give you a way to escape so that you will be able to stand it.
Sometimes there are things in life that we just can’t seem to get rid of. No matter how hard we try, the same little things always seem to trip us up again. But there is good news! There is always a way out in times we feel the urge to do something that we know goes against God’s plan.
Is there anything in your life perhaps that tempts you a lot? Maybe it’s something as simple as being rude to a friend who’s annoying you, or maybe your friends are constantly trying to persuade you to do something that you know doesn’t have a good ending?
We may sometimes think that we can not resist the kind of things. But it is clear that in the power of Jesus we can resist many of the tempting things in life. Sometimes the way out can even be to say ‘no’ …
That? No thanks, God has something better in mind for me!
Prayer: Lord God, you know that there are some things in my life that are not good for me, help me to resist the bad and look to You first before I pursue other things so that I can live in the fullness of life that you give.
Challenge: Do not be afraid to say “No thanks, God has something better in mind for me”.
