Gain Strength in Weakness

“I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.”2 Corinthians 12:9-10

“… But those who wait upon God get fresh strength…”Isaiah 40:31

“God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!“Ephesians 3:20

Are there situations in your life that have made you doubt yourself? Or are there people who make you feel weak by saying bad things about you or making fun of you? The Apostle Paul admitted that he, too, felt weak at times. He didn’t fit in with the world’s people. People laughed at him and made fun of him.

But this didn’t get him down, because he knew when he was weak, he was strong because his weakness taught him to rely entirely on Christ’s great power. And most importantly, He was faithful to God until the end of His life (2 Timothy 4:8). He could do all these things, not because he relied on his own strength, but because he trusted in God.

Gain Strength in Weakness

Prayer: Lord, help me, like Paul, to always keep my eyes on You and trust You. Please fill me with new strength every day. Amen.

Challenge: Think of your circumstances as an opportunity to see how God is going to empower you. Trust Him. He won’t let you down!
