Last week, we found the Fruit of the Spirit in this chapter. Now it’s time to spot the opposite.
Challenge: Read 2 Corinthians chapter 12 again & look for the word ‘SIN’. Do you remember how sin came into the picture? It had to do with Adam & Eve in the Garden and the forbidden fruit… 🐍🍎 How did Paul feel about sin?
📖 Verse 21: “Yes, I am afraid that when I come again… I will be grieved because many of you have not given up your old sins.”
The reason why what happened in the Garden of Eden was so bad is that sin and God do not mix. He cannot stand it. It was not Adam & Eve who could not come near God; it was the sin that made it impossible for them to do so.
⚔️ Paul takes God’s approach to sin:
He doesn’t go looking for it; he’s afraid to find it. It grieves him (makes him very sad).
Consider your own perspective on sin:
⚠️ Sin comes between you and God.
Philippians 4:8 encourages us in a better way: “Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honourable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
