📖 Isaiah 40:11 “He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart.”
In a fast-paced, stressful world, today’s verse reminds us of God’s gentle, patient care. Unlike the world that pushes constant striving, God offers a different model of strength: gentleness. Just as a shepherd tenderly carries a vulnerable lamb, God gathers us close to His heart during our moments of weakness.
On this roadtrip with Jesus, we need Him to hold us, gently teaching us where to go. We can learn the fruit of the spirit, gentleness, from God – and also be gentle toward others. By resting in His guidance, we can shed the pressure to perform and become more gentle with ourselves and others.
📌 Trust that your Shepherd holds you with gentleness.
🙏 Prayer: Dearest Lord God, thank You for being my gentle Shepherd in this stressful world. When I feel weak and vulnerable, would You remind me that You are always there to hold me in Your arms and carry me close to Your heart? Amen.
🔥 Challenge: Pick a task you normally rush through or get impatient with (e.g. difficult assignment, chore, or conversation with a family member). Make a conscious effort to complete it with gentleness. Reflect on how this gentle approach changed the outcome.
