Face Your Fear by Faith

‘For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.’2 Timothy 1:7

We all get scared. We fear the unknown, the future, other people, or even failures. Yet we serve a living God who is in control.

So why do we allow our fears to get the best of us? The quick answer is that we focus too much on what scares us. When you constantly think about, for example, the exam you fear or a specific module of which you are not in charge, your mind stays on the idea of how big the problem seems to you.

So, if we get so scared by just thinking about something we fear, imagine how protected we would feel when we think of God who can protect us from anything and everything.

Think about when you were young, and you might have become afraid of strange shapes in the dark when you needed to sleep. The moment you turned on the light, you saw it was a pile of laundry or maybe a tree branch against the window. The dark can be overwhelming, but we feel relief when God brings His light.

Face Your Fear by Faith

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for protecting us from everything. Please help us to always remember You are with us and You have sent us the Holy Spirit who helps us to be brave. Amen.

Challenge: When you feel afraid, talk to God and ask Him to remind you that He is with you.
