‘In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.’ – 1 Peter 1:6-7
You must have heard the saying that diamonds are made from pressure and that the difference between coal and diamonds is the amount of pressure applied. In 1 Peter 1:7, we see that our faith will be put under pressure and, in the end, we will reap the benefits of a tested faith.
Your faith will be refined if you hold onto the Lord during troubling times. Remember, nothing worth having comes easy. Do not get discouraged in times of uncertainty because if you hold on to Jesus, you will be surprised at the outcomes. There is one thing the enemy hates: a tested and refined faith.
Hold onto Jesus through faith. Whenever you feel weak, remember, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ (Philippians 4:13). You are never alone because the Lord promised to never leave nor forsake you.
Embrace A Refined Faith
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, sometimes this walk is difficult, but I know you are always with me. When my flesh fails me, Your Spirit is strong in me. Help me to trust in You in every circumstance. I ask all this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
Challenge: When feeling under pressure, meditate on scripture that reminds you of the Lord’s refining when you go through trials.
