‘Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners! Purify your hearts, you hypocrites!’ – James 4:8
The Bible encourages us to draw near to God, assuring He will draw near to us in return. This scripture fills us with hope and freedom, reminding us that when we purposefully love and serve God, even by spending time with Him, He values and responds to our actions by drawing us closer to Him. Our God is unique; even in our unfaithfulness, He remains faithful. Even when we turn away from Him or attempt to replace Him with worldly things, He never abandons or forsakes us.
However, it’s crucial to understand that nothing can truly make you whole except God Himself. Therefore, you must run to Him instead of substituting Him with counterfeits. Relying on counterfeit sources will only leave you more broken and lonely. Your true fulfillment and the remedy for your emptiness can only be found in your heavenly Father. He created you and took delight in loving you. He alone can fill the void within you because you were made for Him. Who He is surpasses anything the world could ever offer. In Him, you can experience wholeness and unconditional love.
So, when you find yourself in moments of loneliness, turn to Him. Pray and seek Him earnestly, knowing that He is always with you. He will provide you with the strength to navigate through these challenging times. Remember, as believers, we are not alone.
When loneliness creeps in, reach out to fellow believers and engage in prayer sessions together. Encourage and remind one another of God’s closeness, even when we feel isolated. Together, we can find solace in the assurance of His presence.
