Galatians 1:6
6 God, by his grace through Christ, called you to become his people. So I am amazed that you are turning away so quickly and believing something different than the Good News.
We live in a world where we hear voices from all different directions telling us how to live our lives. Some say that we’ve just gotta live in the moment and should try everything we can because we are only young once. We must be careful to listen to these kinds of voices.
Nowadays many young people live in a YOLOi culture (meaning it’s more about what we want than about God’s will). But we must not forget how awesome Jesus is. God did not send Jesus to earth just because He was bored. Jesus came to give us real life.
It doesn’t make sense to live as if it were all for nothing. We should regularly check the patterns/habits in our lives and consider if we truly live in the fullness that Jesus wants for us. The more we build on our relationship with Jesus, the more we will experience true life. Then we won’t be bowled over by what the world expects of us.
Don’t get distracted from Jesus!
Prayer: Lord God, thank you for loving me so much that you came to show me what true life is through Jesus. Help me remember how awesome you are when other voices try to divert my attention… Amen.
Challenge: Give up one thing for the rest of the week that you know is drawing your attention away from Jesus’ goodness. How can you use that time to get to know Jesus better?
