HOW CAN WE PRACTICALLY LIVE OUR FAITH IN A DARK WORLD?
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept.” – Matthew 5:14
“Readily recognise what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” – Romans 12:2
“You who are young, make the most of your youth. Relish your youthful vigour. Follow the impulses of your heart. If something looks good to you, pursue it. But know also that not just anything goes; you have to answer to God for every last bit of it.” – Ecclesiastes 11:9
Being a Christian in the world is not always easy. Sometimes things your peers or others do seem appealing, and you would also like to participate. This is not always wrong. God’s Word reminds us as a young people that we should enjoy our lives and strive for happiness, but God also warns that we will be held accountable for our actions.
That is why it is essential to know your identity in the Lord. You need to surround yourself with people who share your values, and you need to allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, helping you to make the right decisions and choices. Your actions should always reflect the character of a child of God.
You, child of God, are in the world, but not part of the world. You are the light in this dark world!
Christian In The World Is Not Easy
Prayer: Lord, let Your Holy Spirit guide me so that I will let Your light shine. Amen.
Challenge: Be a light in this dark world. Let your words and actions reflect your status as a child of God. Live a life that inspires others to desire what shines from you.
