Child of God

💭 Reflect
Your new identity is that you are part of God’s family – He is your Father and you are His child. We live in a time of faith. Even if the sin is still there and even when we still make mistakes, the Holy Spirit helps us to live rightly before God and to walk with Jesus. You make God’s heart rejoice when you believe in Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to direct your steps daily. God sees you, He calls you His child.

📖 Galatians 3:26
“For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.”

❔ Questions

• Do you feel like you are part of God’s family? If not, say today’s verse out loud every day until you believe it: “I am a child of God through faith in Christ Jesus”.
• Read the verse above again and identify the thing that makes you a child of God.
• Perhaps you know people going through a difficult time – Can you go tell them that God notices them and calls them His children?

📢 Identity statement
Say it out loud: “I am part of God’s family.”

🎨 Respond
Design a special card today with the words: God calls me His child. Gal 3:26. Put it in your Bible to always remember this important truth.

Take a video where you talk about what it means to you to be a child of God.

👥 People
Perhaps you have a teacher or family member who needs encouragement. Make an extra card like the one above, write today’s verse on it, and anonymously place it somewhere where they’ll find it later.

• Try to imagine how amazing it must have felt to Abraham when God promised that Someone would come from his descendents through whom all the nations would be saved. (Read more in Gen 17)
• Now read verse 29, what does it mean that we are heirs of the promise?
• Do you realize that through your faith in Jesus, you are also part of Abraham’s descendants and that you will live in Heaven with Jesus for eternity?
