“So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.” – Galatians 6:10
We are not made to walk the Christian Walk alone, because that’s not how Jesus did it. He found twelve friends and travel companions! Other people bring the water and sunlight that is needed to let our hidden seeds sprout into something beautiful. When we share our life with other people in this way we can truly make a difference.
Jesus taught his disciples that “it is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35). There’s a well-known quote that says: “Bloom where you are planted”. This saying is based on the idea of making a difference right where you are. We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16) in our immediate environments.
You are not anywhere by accident – God has placed you close to a community that is destined to bring you everything you need to flourish in faith. Even if it can be hard to see it sometimes when we look at all the challenges around us, the truth is that there are many opportunities to make a difference right where we are.
Bloom Where You Are Planted
Prayer: God, would You help me to accept where You have placed me and to not always long for something different or better. Give me Your perspective on my circumstances so that I may see the hidden opportunities hiding away under the challenges. Thank you that I know I am not alone in any of it. Amen.
