‘Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with a lot. Whoever is dishonest with very little is dishonest with a lot.’ – Luke 16:10
Have you ever felt like some people have a better connection with God than you? I had a similar experience, where God seemed to speak to everyone except me. And then I read this verse in Luke, and something changed. I realized I wanted to be trusted in the big things, but I was dishonest in the little things. I was cheating in my spiritual life and got caught out by God. This verse made me aware of that.
We want the big moments, the impressive encounters, and the unique experiences with God, but we are not faithful in our Bible study, daily devotions, and all the little thing that will help us grow closer to God. Maybe today’s devotion is precisely what you need to hear.
Be faithful and grow closer to God. Let’s be trustworthy in our daily devotion, prayer time, words, and thoughts and see what God will start trusting us with. Don’t be like me, lying to myself and then realizing I was cheating myself in my spiritual life.
Be Trustworthy In The Small Things
Prayer: Father God, your Word is truth and is the way to an abundant life of joy. Please help me to be truthful in the small things. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Challenge: Start small and think of something you can be faithful to now that will help you grow closer to God. Write it down and put it on your mirror to remind you daily.
