“Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will become thirsty again. But those who drink the water that I will give them will never become thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give them will become in them a spring that gushes up to eternal life.”’ – John 4:13-14
We all know the story of the Samaritan woman Jesus met at the well. Her spirits were low, her life was messed up, and she was down and trampled on. How many of us don’t feel that way?
Sometimes we feel ashamed of the things in our past, but that’s behind us. Jesus offered eternal life to the Samaritan woman whose life was in shambles. A five-time divorcee and now just living with some man, and still Jesus said, “I’ll give you Living Water.” Just as he revealed Himself to her as the Messiah, He also reveales Himself to you. He is your Savior and has already conquered the battle against sin.
The moment you let Jesus into your heart, your life becomes like a fountain…you’re overflowing with His love. You are part of the living waters that flow into the world. The Samaritan woman was not condemned or humiliated by Jesus. He doesn’t do it with you, either, but as with her He tells you to stop sinning and start living.
Be His Fountain
Prayer: Loving Lord and Savior, thank you for having the prospect of the Living Water. Make me a well of hope that offers this living water to others. I ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Challenge: Greet everyone today with a smile and be the well where Jesus meets others.
