Balance, Never Gives Up

‘Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”’ – John 8:12

Have you ever observed someone gracefully performing gymnastics, skateboarding, or riding the waves while surfing? They seem to effortlessly maintain their balance, don’t they? However, when we attempt these activities ourselves, it becomes clear that defending that balance is quite a challenge. Often, our initial efforts result in falls and stumbles.

Think back to when you first learned to ride a bicycle. It was anything but easy. You encountered numerous falls and experienced your fair share of pain. Yet, every time you fell, you would rise again, brush off the dirt, and give it another shot. Over time, through persistent practice, you mastered the skill and now ride a bike without a second thought.

Life mirrors these challenges and triumphs. The most remarkable aspect is that we are never alone in this journey. God’s unwavering presence stands beside us, ready to lift us up when we stumble, to tend to our wounds, and to infuse us with the motivation to persevere. While we are destined to encounter falls and face pain, God remains steadfast in His desire to support and uplift us.

God empowers us with the resilience to forge ahead.

Balance, Never Gives Up

Prayer: Dear Lord, I am grateful for Your presence, especially when I am stumbling. Please grant me the strength to rise after each fall. Please fill me with the determination to embrace challenges. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Challenge: Next time you face a challenge – whether it’s a school assignment, a personal goal, or a new skill – remember the times you’ve seen skilled athletes struggle and then excel. Apply the same determination. When you stumble, get up, brush off doubts, and try again. Recognise God’s support in your journey.
