When you accepted Jesus, you became a “new” creation — a new you started, completely free from your past mistakes! As a painter paints on a clean canvas, God wants to “paint” beautiful and new things in your life. What new colors of kindness, courage, and love would you like to see in your painting today?
A genuine change in our hearts makes it possible for us to begin living a life in which we know and love Christ. Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. You don’t have to hold on to sin and guilt – instead, hold on to Jesus.
You’ve got a fresh start!
Prayer: Dear God, thank You for making me new in Christ. Help me to live each day with the purpose and joy that comes from being Your child. You don’t remember my weakness and sin, so why should I cling to it? Help me to let it go. Amen.
Challenge: It’s easy to cling to your mistakes, flaws, and shortcomings. When those thoughts come up today, try saying instead: “I am a new creation in Christ”.
