📖 Matthew 18:21-22 “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times’.
To forgive someone is not always easy. You might feel hurt or betrayed by someone you really cared for. Those feelings of anger and disappointment are real, but holding onto them can weigh you down. When Jesus was on the cross, He prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34).
The world might tell you to build walls around your heart to keep people who have hurt you at a distance. But God’s way is different. His way is not the way of the world. Jesus forgives us again and again—and He wants us to do the same for others.
📌 Forgive others the same way God forgives you – repeatedly, even when it’s tough.
🙏 Prayer: Thank You Jesus, that I have learned from You how to forgive. Please help me to forgive as You forgive me. Give me grace for other people and much patience to choose forgiveness every day. Amen.
🔥 Challenge: Sometimes we need to tell someone that we forgive them. You can calmly explain how they have hurt you and also apologise for your reaction.
Other times, forgiveness is between you and God. You can sit in your room and explain to Jesus how you feel about the situation, then absolve the person, and pray that they will live closer to Jesus.
